BUILDING & USING JIGS
When building a jig one has to remember what it's uses will be. In this case I built the steel jigs to use over many times in the course of fabricating the aluminum pieces that will hold the GARAGE LAZY SUSAN together. They needed to be vary accurate in hole location and length. Because the aluminum bolts together back to back with the 1/2 in Melamine in between the holes in the steel jigs needed to be very accurate for location between each other so all the holes would line up. I would clamp the aluminum to the jigs very tightly so no movement during the drilling, very important for a quality job. Building jigs can be very time consuming, especially if accuracy is needed.
