We (FASTDAD & FASTMOM) have some good and exciting news. For the last couple of months we have been laying plans to market our merchandise on a larger scale. We have now been accepted as a merchandiser on AMAZON.com! This means we will have the capability to reach millions of potential customers! We will be changing www.FASTDAD.net around to reflect these changes. Taking it out of car repairs and ...into Specialty Retailer of Handmade Merchandise. This is a process so each step is small so moving forward will be a sure thing but slow paced. We are starting with the t-shirt line and then follow that up with the GARAGE LAZY SUSAN. There are more ideas for handmade merchandise in the works. Our racing operation will play an important role in all of this, just not immediately. There is after all only so much time to do stuff and it is only myself and FASTMOM! I am building some new parts to incorporate my ideas into the race car so hopefully we will be able to aleast test them out this year! The main focus right now is our new direction for merchandise and setting that all up so it runs smoothly.

UPDATE & GREAT EXPERIENCE
Been busy doing some business related stuff. We are expanding our operation some what and I am working on the infrastructure to do that. One of the things we needed was some professional photography work done. I want to mention here the people over at http://www.thoenphoto.com/_ They are really great to work with. I worked with Greg Thoen. He assisted with all that we needed. Very professional and knowledgeable. The photos they took turned out great and will be seen by many people. So if anyone needs professional photography work done give them a call, I highly recommend them.

FITTING ENGINE INTO THE CHASSIS
Fit the engine into the chassis last nite. Had to machine up two new longer spacers for the bottom rails. Used two 7/16 in bolts 6 in long for the attachment. Came out very nicely. Now I'll be able to fabricate parts and mounts for some ideas I want to incorporate into the chassis and know thery'll fit. Some of these ideas you'll see being made but won't know what they're for, because it's secret!!!

BUILDING & USING JIGS
When building a jig one has to remember what it's uses will be. In this case I built the steel jigs to use over many times in the course of fabricating the aluminum pieces that will hold the GARAGE LAZY SUSAN together. They needed to be vary accurate in hole location and length. Because the aluminum bolts together back to back with the 1/2 in Melamine in between the holes in the steel jigs needed to be very accurate for location between each other so all the holes would line up. I would clamp the aluminum to the jigs very tightly so no movement during the drilling, very important for a quality job. Building jigs can be very time consuming, especially if accuracy is needed.

BUILDING EQUIPMENT
Built this tripod setup for the front of the race car last nite. It's a heck of lot stronger than the original. Now I can install the engine with out any concern over the weight on the chassis. It can still rotate like a rotisserie so I can work on in any degree of rotation. This will make it much easier to fabricate parts and such. Stay tuned more to come!!!!!!

SCCA BANQUET
Shared a table last nite with a two time national champion in E production. He and his wife were there for the banquet, he changed his focus to setting Landspeed records several years ago. Crashed very bad at 250 MPH! Spent 6 weeks in the hospital recovering. Here's a picture of his LSR car. Very nice gentleman. Built it himself !

CHANGES IN 2012
The goal all along has been to make HIGH QUALITY MERCHANDISE FOR HOUSE AND GARAGE to sell on FASTDAD.NET. Inorder to do this FASTDAD (me) needs to design and make the merchandise. This is a very time consuming undertaking. With out boring you with all the details there will be some changes coming to the website, kind of like a deep muscle message to reawaken things. Our focus is going to be soley on two things, making the web site a consumer friendly place with EXCEPTIONAL HIGH QUALITY MERCHANDISE FOR HOUSE AND GARAGE and building the fastest race car possible.
